ACES Floors (Claim Me!)

Edited to add a response to ACES: The color was done incorrectly – thank you for not disputing that point at least. I only mentioned it so others will be aware they should check and not trust.

We were not expecting a perfectly level floor or a sloped floor – only that the low spots be addressed as indicated verbally and in writing. Do these photos show that the low spots were addressed? 1000% NO. Very poor customer service.

We hired ACES to do a surface coat on our patio last year. We invested in a very nice patio cover and were looking forward to a lovely shaded outdoor area to enjoy.

Unfortunately, our experience has been very negative. First, they used the WRONG COLOR. I brought it their attention and trying to be generous, offered to see if we could “live with it” instead of having them redo it. We decided that while not our favorite at all nor what we asked for, we would just make it work even though it didn’t really match the new patio furniture we invested in. Most businesses will offer a modest discount for a failure on their part, however, ACES did not.

Second and the absolute WORST part, when we had our initial conversation with Jonny, my husband asked about leveling. Johnny assured us that they always do that before doing the coating.

This is directly from the email when we were quoted “Price for all labor and material to grind the patio floor to clean open concrete. Fill all cracks, rough areas, low spots, and divots with Penntek Mender”. Not just a verbal agreement – it’s right there in writing.

Our patio is not small – approximately 20′ x 25′ – they did not level any low spots at all. As a result, when it rains heavily and when I use a hose to clean the patio, the low spots that were not leveled retain water in several key areas including where the furniture sits and right outside the door to the house making a puddle for all to walk through. I made several calls to try and address the issue and had a very difficult time getting a call back. When Johnny finally spoke with me, he would not agree to fix the issue. We always extend grace and request a fix before writing a bad review. We spent over $2800 and are left with this mess. Very disappointed – DO NOT RECOMMEND!
